Tom Howard/John H. Reid Fiction & Essay Contest 2025, organized by Winning Writers located in Western Massachusetts, United States of America now is calling for entries inviting people worldwide of all ages to participate.
You may submit stories and essays (a story is any short work of fiction, and an essay is any short work of nonfiction) on any theme, up to 6,000 words each.
Your work must be in English. You may submit as many entries as you like. Work submitted may be published or unpublished.
Results will be annnounced betwben 33rd contest on October 15, 2025.
➜ Who may enter?
This contest is international and open to people of all ages. Residents of the following countries are not eligible to enter: Syria, Iran, North Korea, Crimea, Russia, or Belarus (due to US government restrictions).
➜ Prize:
➜ The winning story and essay will each receive $3,500.
➜ Ten Honorable Mentions will receive $500 each.
➜ Entry fees:
The entry fee is $25.
