Andreu World International Design Contest 2025 : The Andreu World International Design Contest 2025, international annual furniture design competition has been recently announced, inviting both design students and professionals to take a part and to submit new sustainable designs for a chair or table that integrates all the specifications outlined by Andreu World, S.A.

➜ Short description

The Andreu World International Design Contest 2025 is a globally recognized annual competition dedicated to fostering innovation in furniture design, specifically targeting sustainable and eco-friendly solutions for seating and tables.

This contest seeks to foster the creation of innovative and sustainable furniture that promotes healthy interiors, aligned with the principles of the New European Bauhaus, the guidelines of the World Design Organization and the fundamental values of Andreu World.

The project should reflect our commitment to good design, innovation, sustainability and responsible production. Participants should submit a seat and/or table design that fits these principles, thus celebrating our seven-decade history of high-quality furniture design.

Entrants are tasked with proposing forward-thinking, functional, and aesthetically sophisticated designs that embody Andreu World’s deep-rooted commitment to sustainability, quality craftsmanship, and responsible production practices.

Participants are encouraged to draw inspiration from contemporary trends such as circular design principles, sustainable manufacturing, and ergonomics, while aligning with global movements like the New European Bauhaus and the guidelines established by the World Design Organization.

The contest aims to highlight and promote designers whose innovative creations reflect an understanding of material efficiency, ecological responsibility, and human-centric design. This approach ensures that entries not only address aesthetic criteria but also respond effectively to contemporary environmental challenges and consumer demands for greener products.

The designs must be presented in such a way that they can be produced in a mechanized and mass-produced manner. The product must be original and unpublished, its design must not have been made before.

The Andreu World International Design Contest offers participants an exceptional opportunity to gain international recognition, showcase their creative vision, and potentially see their designs move from concept to production.

The awards ceremony will be held on December 2024.

➜ Submission requirements:

➜ A prototype of the proposed piece (scale 1:5).
➜ Technical report of the project as complete as possible. It can include: plans, diagrams, sketches, renders, images of the piece, etc.
➜ Video presentation (highly recommended). The video should explain the project and/or show details of the model in a creative way. Max. duration 2 minutes, Panoramic (horizontal), max.resolution 2160p (3840x2160), any video file format is allowed.
The technical report and the video should be sent by email to contest@andreuworld.com indicating the name and participant number in the subject line. To facilitate the sending of the technical report and the video, the use of digital platforms that enable data transfer such as Wetransfer, OneDrive, Google Drive or similar is allowed. Innovative contributions (through a feasibility study) that contribute to increasing the level of product quality will be evaluated. The relationship with the following aspects will be analyzed:

➜ Sustainability (carbon footprint data, recyclability, new recycled and recyclable materials)

The contest is open both to design students and to professionals, without age limit.

➜ Prize:

The contest offers a first prize of €5,000 and a second prize of €2,500, along with three special mentions. Winners gain international recognition, and their designs may be considered for production by Andreu World, providing a significant platform for emerging talent in the design industry.
