SEGD Global Design Awards 2025 now is over!

SEGD Global Design Awards 2025: The SEGD Global Design Awards 2025, the only international awards program focused on user experiences in the built environment has been recently opened for entries, honoring design work that connects people to place by providing direction, content, and compelling experiences in public spaces.

➜ Short description

The Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD) has opened entries to its Global Design Awards for 2025. Since 1987, the SEGD Global Design Awards have set the standard of excellence for experiential graphic design - honoring design work that connects people to place by providing direction, storytelling, and compelling experiences in public spaces. The awards celebrate design that inspires and improves the human experience for individuals of all backgrounds and abilities. The competition for 2025 includes the following categories:

➜ Branded Environments - Spaces designed to extend the experience of an organization’s brand, or distinguishing characteristics as expressed in graphic elements
➜ Digital Experiences - Technology-driven experiences that augment and enhance a visitor’s connection to place through media
➜ Exhibition - Displays which orchestrate graphic, object or media elements to inform, interpret and educate visitors
➜ Placemaking - Projects that contribute to the creation of shared spaces and strengthen connections between people and place through graphic, text or media elements
➜ Public Installation - Projects which imbue public spaces with meaning, mood and context through art and design employing text, image, or media
➜ Strategy/Research/Planning - Masterplans, standards manuals, strategy documents and published work
➜ Wayfinding - Information systems that guide people through a physical environment and enhance their understanding and experience of the space

Eligible for submission are projects that have been completed between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2024, as for Student entries, projects that have been completed in 2023 or 2024 by full-time students.

A multi-disciplinary jury representing a diversity of design disciplines, as well as clients, users, and students will evaluate your projects based on their effectiveness in connecting people to place, creating a unique and memorable user experience, and solving the client’s objectives and design challenges.

Winners will be honored at the SEGD Global Design Awards Celebration during the SEGD Conference, 13-15 November, 2025 in San Francisco, California.

➜ Who may enter?

The competition is open to all Experiential graphic designers, Environmental graphic designers, Graphic designers, Architects, Landscape architects, Exhibit designers, Industrial designers, Interior designers, Technology integrators, Digital content creators, User experience designers, Media developers, Creative agencies, Fabricators, Clients and Students, from any part of the world.

➜ Prize:

Honor and Merit awards are selected in each category. Winning projects will be featured in the SEGD25 awards annual and in the SEGD Global Design Awards archive on www.segd.org. SEGD will also distribute press releases announcing the winners.

➜ Entry fees:

Entry fees for 2025 are yet to be announced, however they might not change from last year’s competition.

➜ SEGD Student Members: Free ($0/entry)
➜ Student Non-members: $50/entry
➜ SEGD Members: $325/entry or three or more entries at $250/entry
➜ All others: $650/entry

There is a $100 late fee per project entered between 1 February and 28 February, 2025.

There is a $150 late fee for any project entered between 1 March and 15 March, 2025.
