14th International Compostela Prize For Picture Books: The 14th Compostela Prize for Picture Books, competition organised by Education Department of the City Council of Santiago de Compostela in collaboration with Kalandraka, recently has been announced seeking for the books in which the story is told through illustrations and images.
Short description
The International Compostela Prize for Picture Books is an initiative promoted with aime at fostering this literary and artistic genre, in addition to promoting the city abroad.
This edition of International Compostela Prize for Picture Books is open to all publications included in the picture book category, a book in which the story is told through images, or through images and text that complement each other.
The books may be presented in any of the official languages of the Iberian Peninsula (Galician, Catalan, Basque, Castilian Spanish and Portuguese), and must be original and unpublished.
The projects may be presented in any size, technique and format, but may not contain any more than 40 inner pages (excluding covers and endpapers).
The jury will be composed of members with recognised prestige in the field of literature and illustration, and they will select the winner picture book.
Who may enter?
One or more persons, who are authors of the text and illustrations, of any nationality may take part.
Prize:
The winner will receive a cash prize of 9,000 EUR. The prize-winning work will be published in all of the official languages of the peninsula by the publisher Kalandraka in November 2021.
