Weather Photographer of the Year 2022: The Royal Meteorological Society's 'Weather Photographer of the Year', now in its 7th year is calling for entries inviting photographers, professional and amateur, looking for the best photographs from around the world that depict weather in its widest sense.

Short description

The Royal Meteorological Society is very pleasant to annunce its 7th internatinal competition Weather Photographer of the Year 2022, looking for the best photographs from around the world that depict weather in its widest sense.

Submissions are invited across three categories:

Weather Photographer of the Year
Young Weather Photographer of the Year
Mobile Phone Weather Photographer of the Year

Photographers can upload up to 5 images to each of the three categories.

This year's line-up of judges includes experienced meteorologists, photographers and photo editors. They will look for images that combine photographic skill with meteorological observation and storytelling. To discover the audience favourite, shortlisted entries in the main and mobile competitions will also be put to a public vote in August and September.

Who may enter?

This competition is open to photographers, professional and amateur, of all ages and abilities.

Young Weather Photographer of the Year
➜ Winner: Canon SELPHY CP1300 printer

Mobile Phone Weather Photographer of the Year
➜ Winner: £500 cash + Canon SELPHY CP1300 printer
➜ Runner-up: £250 cash
