Theatrical Posters International Biennale Armenia 2024: Theatrical Posters International Biennale Armenia 2024, recently announced for entries celebrates the art of theatrical poster design, offering a broad stage for the exhibition of innovative and captivating visual representations of the performing arts.

Short description

The Theatrical Posters International Biennale Armenia 2024, recently announced for entries, stands as a prestigious global platform inviting the creative submissions of artists, designers, theatres, theatre groups, and organizations from all corners of the world.

This unique event celebrates the art of theatrical poster design, offering a broad stage for the exhibition of innovative and captivating visual representations of the performing arts.

With categories spanning from traditional theatrical presentations, including spectacle, opera, and ballet, to broader performing arts such as music, dance, singing, and performance art, TPAM provides a comprehensive showcase of contemporary visual storytelling in the context of theatre and performance.

Categories are:

Main Category – All kind of theatrical posters (spectacle, opera, ballet, any kind of theatrical festival or event posters)

Other Stages – Music, dance, singing, performance

Each participant is permitted to submit up to 3 posters that have been produced since May 2022, ensuring that the works presented are fresh and reflective of current trends and styles in theatrical poster design. The Biennale emphasizes the importance of originality and adherence to human rights, categorically excluding any submissions that contain hate speech or contradict the principles of human dignity.

Submitted posters will be shortlisted in June 2024 by the Pre-selection Committee composed of local specialists.

The shortlisted posters will be exhibited in autumn 2024 at the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre of Armenia. From shortlisted posters the international jury will award 3 of the most impressive commissioned (ordered) posters with the following prizes: Medal and diploma for 1 Grand Prix and 2 The Best Poster (There won’t be 1st, 2nd places), 2 Special Award, 2 Honorable Mention and also 3 Encouragement Certificate for self promotion/rejected posters.

The results will be publicly announced in autumn 2024, in Yerevan during the opening ceremony of the Theatrical Posters International Biennale – Armenia 2024.

Submission requirements:

➜ Each applicant may submit up to 3 posters produced since May 2022. Animated posters won’t be accepted. The posters must be free from hate speech and any element that contradicts human rights. Self promotion, experimental or rejected posters (marked in entry form) will be evaluated separately as encouragment.

➜ The digital files should have the following specifications: 1200px on the longest side, RGB, 300 dpi, JPEG (high quality), not larger than 3MB.

➜ In case of languages other than English, please provide the English translation of the title in entry form.

Only in the case of posters shortlisted by the Pre-selection Committee, the participant will be asked to provide the high quality printable files with the following specifications: 84cm on the longest side, CMYK, 300 dpi, TIF, or printable high quality PDF. The costs of printing the posters for this year’s exhibition will be covered by the organizers.

Who may enter?

The Theatrical Posters International Biennale Armenia 2024 is open to all artists, designers and theatres/theatre groups and organizations from all over the world. Applications can be submitted by individual designers and artists, or theatres/theatre groups, organizations and performing arts artists.

Prize:

The international jury will award medals and diplomas for 1 Grand Prix and 2 The Best Poster awards. There will also be 2 Special Awards, 2 Honorable Mentions, and 3 Encouragement Certificates for self-promotion/rejected posters. Winners will receive a free hard copy of the catalogue, with the results announced in autumn 2024 during the opening ceremony in Yerevan. All shortlisted applicants will receive a digital certificate and PDF catalogue confirming their participation.
