ON PAPER International Printmaking Contest 2024 is now open for entries!

ON PAPER International Printmaking Contest 2024 : Tinta Invisible editions presents ON PAPER, its annual contest of graphic work to promote the art of printmaking, as well as the connection between printmakers around the world inviting each artist to partecipate.

Short description

ON PAPER International Printmaking Contest 2024, annual international printmaking project, now in its 10th year is calling for entries!

ON PAPER encourages artists to develop their creativity and uniqueness through the process of printing. It has been created to promote the art of printmaking and connect printmakers around the world.

Each artist can submit one piece of work on a paper size of 30cm x 40cm. The print size can be any within the size of the paper.

There will be no specific topic.

The works must necessarily be executed with any of the systems and techniques of the graphic arts, including digital and electrographic procedures considered by the artist. The following techniques will be accepted: silkscreen, lithography, etching or indirect techniques, gouge or direct techniques, additive techniques, monotype, electro-etching, woodcut, photoengraving. Digital reproduction techniques such as digital giclée printing will also be accepted. Digital processes in the creation of the matrix will be accepted.

Digital prints (prints made with a printer) are not accepted. However, digital processes can be used to elaborate prints that are traditionally printed.

The works must be original, they cannot have been previously exhibited publicly or have won any other contest. The winner of the previous edition will not be allowed to participate. The work must be relatively new, completed in the last couple of years and not have received a prize before. The total edition cannot exceed 50 copies.

The international jury will select between 10 – 15 prints. The print with more votes will receive the prize.  An exhibition of the finalists will be held at Tinta Invisible’s exhibition space and a catalogue will be published.

Submission requirements:

➜ Each artist may submit a single work with a maximum size of 50 x 70 cm or that the sum of the two sides does not exceed 120cm.

➜ The work must be signed and numbered.

Who may enter?

The contest is aimed at artists who work in the discipline of visual arts and who use any of the disciplines of engraving as a working method. All artists over 18 years of age of any origin and nationality can participate in this call for entries.

Prize:

Prize of 1,000 Euro (including taxes) will be awarded to the winning artist.

Entry fees:

The registration fee for participation is 30 Euro for administration costs.
