Nature TTL Photographer of the Year 2025 : The 2025 Nature TTL Photographer of the Year, international competition is now open for entries inviting photographers from all countries to participate with the best shoots.

The Nature TTL Photographer of the Year 2025, international competition is now open for entries!

This competition is hosted by Nature TTL, the world’s leading online nature photography resource. The Competition is comprised of both an adult competition and a youth competition.

Each entry in the Adult Competition may be submitted to one of the following categories:

➜ Wild Portraits - Focused on beautiful portraits of wildlife, this category is usually more “traditional”
➜ Animal Behaviour - Photos that capture animal behaviour in the wild
➜ Urban Wildlife - An increasingly popular category of wildlife photography. This category focuses on urban wildlife photography and the increasingly urban world that we live in
➜ Underwater - This category focuses on the underwater world. This could be marine animals, as well as landscapes and macro beneath the waves
➜ Small World - Macro and close-up photos can be entered here. This is both “traditional” macro photography as well as images of smaller critters in general
➜ Landscapes - Photos that show off the beauty of our natural world through landscapes
➜ The Night Sky - Stars, celestial phenomenon, and more. Anything space-related that focuses on the night sky should be entered into this category
➜ Camera Traps - Camera traps are capable of capturing some incredible images. This category focuses on just that. Any type of camera trap is suitable for this category, from “off the shelf” Bushnells through to more advanced DSLR setups

Youth Competition is open to individuals that are aged 17 years or below on the competition deadline date.

There is no limit on the number of entries you may submit to the Adult Competition. Entrants into the Youth Competition are limited to 10 entries.

The judges will choose a shortlist of entries from which they wish to see further high resolution files. The overall winner of the Competition will be chosen by the Judges from the Category Winners.

➜ Submission requirements:

➜ Entries must be submitted in JPEG (or JPG) format.

➜ Entrants that are shortlisted for the final round of judging will be required to provide:

- raw format files (such as .NEF, .CR2 etc) or, if unavailable, original untouched JPEGs for authentication and forensic purposes. DNG files are not permitted, unless DNG is the outputted raw format of your camera;
- full, high resolution files of the final image;
- an extended caption description;
- if required by Nature TTL for authentication, a range of images taken before and after the particular image in question; and if required by Nature TTL for authentication, valid government-issued identification documents.

➜ Who may enter?

The Adult Competition is open to individuals that are aged 18 years or above on the 6th April 2025. The Youth Competition is open to individuals that are aged 17 years or below on the 6th April 2025.

➜ Prize:

There is a prize fund of £3,500 this year, with each category winner taking home £250 cash. The Overall Winner will take the title of Nature TTL Photographer of the Year 2025, as well as a £1,250 total prize.

➜ Entry fees:

Entry into the Adult Competition requires entry credits (‘Entry Credits’), which are charged for at a rate of £10 for 1 entry, £9 for 3 entries, £15 for 5 entries, £20 for 10 entries, £30 for 20 entries, £40 for 30 entries, or £50 for 50 entries. Entrants may buy further Entry Credits at their own discretion.

If you’re amongst the first photographers to enter the competition, you’ll receive discounted entry.

Entries in the Youth Competition do not require the purchase of Entry Credits.
