International Compost Awareness Week 2024 Poster Contest: The International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) Committee invites you to get involved in ICAW 2024 international annual competition, looking for anyone, 9th grade (age 14) or older, interested in participating to submit they poster based on this year theme.

Short description

International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) is the largest and most comprehensive education initiative of the compost industry. The International Compost Awareness Week 2024 Poster Contest is a globally inclusive initiative hosted by the Compost Research & Education Foundation, headquartered in Raleigh, NC in the United States of America.

Each year, the International Compost Awareness Week Committee in the US holds a poster contest to pick a new design for the annual poster.

This vibrant competition offers individuals a unique opportunity to showcase their artistic talents while championing the cause of sustainable environmental practices. The central theme of this poster contest for 2024 is "COMPOST... Nature’s Climate Champion!", which serves as a powerful clarion call for artists to visually articulate the vital role of compost in addressing climate change.

The goal of ICAW each year is to work together to raise public awareness on why we all should be composting our organics recycling and using compost. The program includes poster and video contests in the fall and activities and events held during the week in May.

This is a fun contest but with an important environmental purpose. It helps to get the word out about the benefits of compost use and recycling organics.

Entries are limited to 1 submission per artist.

The judging criteria include marketability, creativity, design attractiveness, and overall impact.

Participants are encouraged to craft visually compelling posters that embody the essence of composting and its profound impact on our planet’s ecological well-being. These posters will play a pivotal role in promoting International Compost Awareness Week 2024, scheduled for May 5 – 11, 2024.

Who may enter?

This competition invites creative minds aged 14 years and above from all corners of the world to participate.

Prize:

The winner will receive a prize of US$500. The winning poster will be used for national distribution, and the winning image will feature the Compost Research & Education Foundation’s logo, along with sponsor logos.
