Hiii Illustration International Competition 2020: The 8th Hiii Illustration International Competition, now is calling for entries and is open to all illustrators, creative professionals, publishers, agencies, teachers and students worldwide, aiming to discover and award outstanding illustration talents and works all over the world.

➜ Short description

Hiii Illustration 2020, the 8th Hiii Illustration International Competition, organised by Hiii International Institute of Ideas (HIII) now is now calling for entries!

Hiii International Institute of Ideas (HIII), the host of the competition, brings together a vital culture force, which assembles the world’s top creativity talents, including designers, illustrators, photographers.

Through contents that define global practice to events that advance creativity and culture interactions/cooperations, HIII works to promote the development of the creative industry, raise its venerability and significance, and deepen its impact to society. Categories are:

➜ Commercial - Illustration works that were commissioned by clients, have been put into production or application. Examples: advertising, design, product, packaging, place or space, animation, fashion, textiles, gaming, apps, social media, television and web, billboards, cd covers, posters, labels, etc.

➜ Publishing - Illustration works that were commissioned by clients, have been published or issued. Examples: books, editorial, covers, magazines, newspapers, comics, handmade books, zines, other publication (including digital formatting), etc.

➜ Children’s Book - Illustration works that were commissioned by clients, have been published or issued. Examples: books, editorial, covers, magazines, newspapers, comics, handmade books, zines, other publication (including digital formatting),etc.

➜ Uncommissioned - Uncommissioned illustration works, or commnissioned ones, but haven’t yet been put into production, application or publication. Examples: Self-generated work, Self-promotion, Experiment, etc.

Submission requirements:

➜ Images submitted should be in JPG format, RGB and 72 dpi. Audio or video files should be in .mp3 or .mp4 format.

➜ Any illustration works, first created or published from 2017 through 2020 are eligible. There is no limit to how many works each illustrator can submit.

➜ The single entry can be with just one illustration.

➜ The series entry can include no more than ten different illustrations. If the number of illustrations is over ten, the committee only chooses the ten of them for judging.

➜ Each entry for Children’s Book category should be 10 illustrations with the cover included.

The participator whose works entered into the second round judging will be informed around some time in January and February 2021.

Several international well-known judges will select the winners, consisting of 1 Grand Prix, 20 Best of the Best, and 50 Merit Award. Works that win Grand Prix, Jury Awards, Best of the Best or Merit Awards will be published in the annual of Hiii Illustration.

The winners will be announced in July 2021.

Entry Fees:

The first round judging is free. The second round judging fees are $20 for a single entry and $40 for a series.

➜ Who may enter?

The competition opens to all illustrators, creative professionals, publishers, agencies, teachers and students worldwide, aiming to discover and award outstanding illustration talents and works all over the world, in turn to advance the development of the illustration cause. Entries may be from any country in the world.

➜ Prize:

Exclusive interviews will be arranged for winners of Grand Prix and Best of the Best awards. They will also receive one copy of the annual and the awarded certifications for free. The rest of the winning entries can receive award certificates only upon request and payment.
