Revelation Perth International Film Festival 2025: The Revelation Perth International film festival, one of the most exciting independent film festivals in Australia, is now open for entries for 2025, inviting filmmakers from across the globe to enter their best work.

The Revelation Perth International Film Festival 2025, one of the most exciting independent film festivals in Australia is opened for entries accepting submissiona from filmmakers from all around the world.

Founded in 1997, the event has developed into an internationally renowned film festival, screening stand-out works and giving a platform for distinctive approaches to production, distribution and exhibition.

The festival is competitive and offers a unique take on the traditional film festival circuit, with critical discussion, creative debate and an open exchange of ideas. Alongside the screening of over 140 films are workshops, networking opportunities and Australia’s only academic conference held in partnership with a film festival. It sees over 500 films submitted for selection from local and international filmmakers and features world and Australian premiere films of all genres. Now entering its twenty-fifth year, Revelation is one of Australia’s most unique screen and moving image events. With its focus on independent cinema, international film, cutting-edge documentaries, emergent talent – both international and Australian, and experimental film, Revelation maintains its clarity of vision while always seeking to explore the potential of visual cultures. Revelation film Competition is open for all unique and signature-driven films from the world over from all styles, all forms, all duration and from all ages. Professional or emerging, big budget or no budget, it’s all about ideas and that’s what they’re looking for.

Submissions can include narrative features, documentary, short film, animation, experimental work and anything in between.

All submitted films must be completed after 1st January 2024.

The Revelation Perth International Film Festival 2023 will run from 2-13 July, 2025 in Perth.

Who may enter?

The Revelation Perth International Film Festival is open to all filmmakers from across the globe.

Prize:

All titles submitted are viewed by the Festival Director. A shortlist is then made - usually made up of around 30% of the titles submitted in each category and those films are then viewed by the Program Director to ensure that all films selected (invited or through the call for entries) provide a complete and cohesive program.

Entry fees:

Entry fee is $40 (Australian Dollars) for Short film submissions and $50 for Feature film submissions. Additional fee applies to entries submitted after 1 March 2025.
