Women's Pavilion 2021 Architecture Competition: Women's Pavilion 2021 Architecture Competition has been recently organized by Volume Zero, inviting you to design a Women’s Community Pavilion that will serve as a medium to raise awareness surrounding the issues faced by women in today's society.

Women's Pavilion 2021 Architecture Competition has been recently organized by Volume zero!
The aim of this competition is to encourage the creative imagination of young designers and students from around the globe to explore their creative limits.
This year participants are invited to design a Women’s Community Pavilion, that would serve as a medium to raise awareness surrounding the issues faced by women in today's society. This platform would be used to empower women by building on their capabilities and strengths and encouraging their belief in their own ability to make a positive change.
What organizer is searching for?
Participants are to design a Women’s Community Pavilion optimized for 75 users engaging multifunctional spaces for women of all age groups using Architecture as a medium of change.
The challenge here is focused on creating an architectural marvel that symbolizes the impact of women and their influence on our society. The designed spaces must integrate function, aesthetics and structural ingenuity.
Participants are to consider an optimum usage of space while designing. The structure should not exceed 500 sq.mt of Footprint area. The proposed design should also be easy to maintain by its users.
The space designed must include but are not limited to functions like reception and admin area, cafeteria, Spaces for sanitation, skill development workshop studios, exhibition space, Cultural spaces, Library, Shops, counselling cabin, intervention hall, community space, etc. Participants are encouraged to develop their own program in addition to this. The design should provoke innovative activities that stimulate and accelerate community development.
This structure must symbolize hope and strength, the design should inspire the local community and be capable of raising awareness of women's rights and empowerment. The competition aims to promote architectural design as an instrument of social change.
Site Selection
Participants are to choose a site in an urban or rural context for their design proposal. The site selected should be in dire need of change that can be well achieved through awareness and social transformation. The design should be well integrated into the context.
➜ Submission requirements:
➜ A single A1 sheet must be submitted in JPEG format (150 DPI Resolution), file size not exceeding 5 MB.
➜ All text must be in English, with a max. of 200 words for project explaination with a readable font size (to be provided on the A1 sheet)
➜ Evaluation Criteria:
Concept Innovation:
The participants are to design an Innovative Women’s Pavilion space that stands as a symbol of strength and hope.
Site Selection:
Participants are to select the site best suited for the Pavilion. The entries will be evaluated based on the site justification given.
Spatial Design:
The entries will be evaluated based on creativity displayed in the spatial design and configuration of areas.
Responsiveness and Utility:
A captivating response given to the physical, environmental and cultural parameters of the context and the users’ needs.
The Winners will be announced 10th February 2022.

Winners and Honorable Mentions will be published on Volume Zero website and several international architecture and design magazines.
➜ Entry fees:
During the Early Bird Registrations (28th August 2021 to 12th November 2021) entry fee for participants from India is 1800 + 18% Tax (per team) and for participants from other countries is USD 70+ 18% Tax (per team). After that period ends the amount of the fee will increase.
