The Lumen Prize for Art and Technology 2025 : The Lumen Prize for Art and Technology 2025, international annual juried competition now in its 13th year is calling for entries and like every year celebrates the very best art created digitally by artists around the world.

Short description

The Lumen Prize for Art and Technology, every year organised by Lumen Art Projects, is calling all artists engaging with technology to submit their best work for 2025.

This prize celebrates the very best art created with technology through a global competition, exhibitions.

All art is eligible as long as it engages with technology in some form. You do not need to be a digital artist or be able to design software to enter.

There are the nine categories which you may enter in 2025:

Still Image — Digital artworks in fixed form: photography, painting, illustration and AI-generated imagery
Moving Image — Time-based works including film, video art and animation
Performance & Music — Live and recorded works combining digital technology with performance, dance, sound and music
Fashion & Design — Innovative works across fashion, architecture, and product design using digital processes
Hybrid (Digital/Physical) — Artworks that co-exist in both the digital and physical spaces
Experiential — Interactive and/or immersive works including XR, installations, environments and light art
Literature & Poetry — Works exploring language and text through digital means
Nature & Climate — Works examining environmental themes and our relationship with the natural world
Identity & Culture — Works exploring personal and collective identity, heritage and cultural exchange

There is no limit on the age of a submitted work.

The judging of the Lumen Prize will be done in two stages. The longlist is determined by the International Selectors Committee of curators, artists and academics. This longlist is then reviewed by the Jury Panel, who select the Shortlist and Award Winners.

All submissions will be reviewed by members of our International Selectors Committee. 50-75 artists will become finalists, whose work will then be reviewed and selected by the Jury Panel. They will be automatically included in the Lumen Artist Community.

Who may enter?

Participation is open to individual rtists, artist collectives, creative studios/practitioners, artist-designers and academic researchers/creative teams.

Prize:

The 50-75 artists will become finalists, whose work will then be reviewed and selected by the Jury Panel. Each year the Jury also selects one Gold Award Winner, who is determined to have created the best work across all categories. In 2025, the Gold Award Winner will be awarded $12,000.

Entry fees:

Early Bird (31 January 2025 — 28 February 2025): $30 per submission
Standard (1 March 2025 — 23 May 2025): $40 per submission
